truth® congratulates Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, CA on their victory in the truth Custom Culture skateboard deck challenge! This year’s theme was all about being the generation that ends smoking:

In 2014, only 8% of teens still smoked. That’s down from 23% in 2000. We can get it down to 0.

The challenge was: Show us what it looks like when we finish smoking for good.

Carlsbad High School crushed it, and wins a trip for 4 to NYC for the Custom Culture final event, plus $10,000 for their art program. The competition was intense again this year -- of the 50 eligible schools, 41 submitted designs.

2015 was truth’s third year participating alongside Vans in the Custom Culture challenge. The truth team continues to be inspired and humbled by the incredible talent and enthusiasm displayed across the board. Thank you!

About truth:
WE DON'T HATE. WE INSTIGATE. We're not here to criticize your choices, or tell you not to smoke. We're here to arm everyone – smokers and non-smokers – with the tools to make change.

GAMING NOT SHAMING. This isn't about throwing stones at smokers. It's about finding and turbo-charging new fun ways to do what no generation has ever done before - end smoking.

WE'RE COUNTING ON YOU. Only 8% of teens still smoke. Finishing the job will come down to you. Be creative. Enlist friends. Spread truth. Tell us what you need to Finish It.

· the Custom Culture art competition, which offers students a fresh perspective on art and an outlet for self expression through the synthesizing of design, fashion, and function during this unique contest and multimedia exhibit.

· the Vans Custom Culture grant program, which awards $2,000 to ten schools across the country annually to support their work in providing high-quality music and/or visual arts instruction for students, as demonstrated through a competitive application.
